Cheeky monkeys at Matilda Bay

Matilda Bay has certainly become a bit of a favourite for family portraits – it seems that towards the end of Summer and leading into Autumn, it really does come into it’s own as a venue for portraits.  Lewis and Oliver had a ball and between chasing seagulls and building sandcastles, we managed to get some beautiful portraits of them both (sand and all!).

Baby bump portraits

Nicole looks amazing – and she only  had 4 weeks to go until the baby was due!  Her pilates has obviously paid off…must look into that!  I find pregnancy portraits amazing – with my two “babies” already growing up so fast (okay, so they’re not really babies at 7 and 11!) I still marvel at the wonderful things we women can do like building a little human…

Family portraits in Bali

Personal work seems to always be the last thing on my To Do list…it’s always the way.  I decided to just get on and finish these before it just gets too late.  So, these portraits were taken in Bali in September 2011 and feature my beautiful children and my neice and nephew….nestled on the day bed in a secluded villa in Permuteran, the wind blew, the ocean lapped and the kids were wonderfully enthusiastic.  A dream shoot.

Autumn portraits

It’s the last day of Summer and although it’s still warm, the Autumn is starting to kick in with the earlier sunset times and later sunrises.  It’s a perfect time of the year for family portraits…ideally the best photographs happen at the end of the day with the soft light of evening – unfortunately, in Summer, that light doesn’t happen until quite late by which time, children are just about ready for bed.  In Autumn, this light is closer to dinner time so what better way to celebrate a family portrait session, but with a picnic dinner and some family time to end the day.

Matilda Bay – late Summer

Family Portraits at Matilda Bay, Perth

As the sun sank slowly in the West….well, it was a bit like that.  I photographed this beautiful family at Matilda Bay at the end of a summer’s day.  The boys are just gorgeous aren’t they?  And we managed not to get anyone too wet although there were spare clothes on hand if we needed them!
